Personal Closed Captioning Devices at Movie Theaters
Two Types of Closed Captioning for Individual Use
Sony Captioned Glasses
|
Captiview Cup Device
|
- Both of these devices have drawbacks
- They must be checked out and programmed when you buy your ticket which takes extra time; then you must turn them in after the movie.
- They are awkward and bulky to carry to your seat along with your coat, purse, concession items, etc., and then you have to find your ticket stub to enter the theater with all this stuff to carry!
- Limited supply at theaters, and are often not operational which you do not find out until the movie starts, and you have to leave your seat to find staff.
- Glasses are heavy!
- Captiview falls out of the cup holder.
- With these devices we suggest you check the individual theaters first for device quantity and specific ALD and headset/neck loop availability.
